Taurus May 2021

The Sun is in your star sign Taurus up until the 20th and, for many of you, this is your birthday month. There’s much to celebrate when the Sun ruling vitality and energy is in your star sign and it starts with you.

Sometimes the simple questions are best during your time of year, e.g. ‘am I being kind to myself?’, ‘am I doing what I can to bring more joy into my life?’

Your ruling planet, Venus, is also in your star sign until the 9th. Make the most of this, kick back, chill and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Notice where you’re being called to expand your life.

This might be linked to travel or study, your beliefs or principles or a desire to escape from some aspect of your life. Take slow steps as May begins and consider your plans carefully.

The New Moon falls in Taurus on the 11th, a symbol of new beginnings. This is an ideal time to set your intentions not only for the month ahead but for the coming year as well. This is your astrological New Year Moon.

Other people are going to becoming more important to you this month as well and there are a couple of reasons for this. It’s not a month to go it alone.

Firstly, action planet Mars is in water sign Cancer throughout May. Cancer is about your community, making new friends, extending your reach and widening your social circle.

Jupiter enters Pisces

More importantly, there’s another significant shift into an emotional water sign and this involves big planet Jupiter. On the 14th, Jupiter leaves Aquarius, the star sign at the peak of your horoscope, which represents your career and vocation, your status and reputation. 

Jupiter enters Pisces where it remains until July 28th, then returns to Aquarius and moves back into Pisces on December 29th later this year. This timing might be significant for you with regard to your future steps.

At its best, Jupiter brings new opportunities and success. You may have found a way to break free from the daily grind and follow your true vocation. You might be having a sabbatical from work to study or rethink your next steps as Jupiter is the planet of liberation and freedom.

Jupiter’s move into Pisces feels more social as Pisces represents friends, groups, social concerns and your wider network in your horoscope. 

This is about finding people of like minds and making sure that your social life is not only fun but supportive as well. Bring new friends into your life by embracing new activities and make an effort to catch up with old friends.

Jupiter’s move through Pisces may be about taking what you do out into the wider world and getting people on board who can help you. This could involve gathering people around you, people who can work alongside you and make life not only easier but more enjoyable and fun too. 

Money Matters

Also this month, there’s a lot of planetary activity in Gemini and your personal money sector. Talk planet Mercury enters Gemini on the 4th where it remains until mid- July and your planet Venus enters Gemini on the 9th. Finally, the Sun moves into your personal money sector on the 20th. 

This could bring good news for you with regard to money, whether extra money comes in, you treat yourself and the ones you love or you receive a gift or bonus. It’s a positive month to be proactive to ensure you’re on the right track financially.

This is important because it’s not all easy-going astrology later in May. There’s an indication that change is on the way, especially with regard to finances and there are two major reasons for this. 

Firstly, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde in Gemini on the 29th and remains on go slow until June 22nd. Traditionally, this is not the time to make a major purchase and you’re wise to get your financial ducks in a row before this planetary phenomenon.

Lunar Eclipse

Secondly, there is a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse which takes place on the 26th, cutting across the Gemini/Sagittarius axis of the zodiac triggering your money sectors. Eclipses bring what’s hidden to light and can indicate a turning point or a change in fortune. 

This eclipse cycle began in June 2020 and completes in December 2021. If you already know your financial situation is about to change, get ready, be prepared and do whatever you need to deal with changes that are on the way.

It may be due to a change in circumstance that you have to rethink your finances, your income and outgoings. From the end of May, you may have to rework or revise your finances in some way, whether you’re cutting ties or building joint ventures.
