Aquarius (20 January – 18 February)
It’s your birthday month and the Sun remains in Aquarius until the 18th. When the Sun is in your sign, it’s time to put your own wants and needs at the top of the list. Focus on your personal goals and aims and what you want more of and less of in the coming months.
This is also a good time to focus on your image and profile, whether this is because of the job you do or the social media platforms you use, either socially or professionally. Notice how you come across to others and what you can do that will add value or boost your reputation.
Communication planet Mercury is in Aquarius from the 7th to the 25th so this would be a brilliant time to update your CV and talk more about yourself for whatever reason. When you have gift-of-the-gab Mercury in your sign, other people will sit up and listen so plan important meetings or interviews whilst Mercury is strong.
This could certainly be a powerful month for communication because two key planets are in Aries and your communication sector. The first is action planet Mars which is strong in Aries all month. This is often a time when you want your voice to be heard. Mars in Aries is the protester and is a positive symbol to speak up and say what’s on your mind.
The other planet to enter Aries on the 3rd is Venus, the planet of relating, so with both Venus and Mars in this sector of your chart, together you’re stronger. This is a sign to team up with other people, whether you’re brainstorming ideas, you want to make a difference in the world or you’re keen to get out and about in your local community. The 10th could be a special date in this respect.
When key planets are in Aries, it’s a positive period in your life to make new friends, to extend your connections far and wide, to network and use your contacts. There’s a social vibe with Mars and Venus in this part of your chart so make the most of this and take the initiative to get old and new friends together.
The only question mark here comes later in the month when Mars clashes first with Pluto on the 22nd and then with the Jupiter-Uranus opposition on the 27th. This is a time when tempers could flare especially if you encounter someone with opposite beliefs to your own.
Be aware that other people will feel this too and it’s an angry and impatient vibe. Avoid these dates for any activity that brings people together and rein in your own desire to be impulsive. This is when accidents can happen.
Otherwise, there are plenty of benefits to gain from friendship, group connections and get-togethers. This is a month when community is strong and like-minded people bring fun and laughter, passion and inspiration your way.
Your freedom streak is also evident this month although the planet of opportunity, Jupiter, turns retrograde in your travel and study sector on the 6th. This doesn’t mean that these activities are out of bounds in February and if anything, your desire to explore life to the full will grow stronger not weaker.
When a planet is retrograde, its energy turns inward rather than outward so you may be keen to make plans to travel or study for later in the year. Jupiter turns direct in June.
Last-minute opportunities or changes of plan could still come your way this month, especially when you meet new people or find yourself thinking about someone from your past. Plus this is eclipse month, so there’s a feel of destiny involved in events.
The most important eclipse for you is the Lunar or Full Moon eclipse on the 11th because it lights up the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac. This eclipse links back to events which took place in August 2016, so think back to then and what relationships or people were foreground in your life.
The Leo/Aquarius eclipse cycle will last for another two years and this is often a time when your close relationships change dramatically. Sometimes you fall head over heels in love or you meet an individual who turns your life upside-down.
Eclipses represent endings as well as new beginnings and if hidden information comes to light, this may shift the dynamic in a long-term relationship or marriage. There is plenty of support during this eclipse from other planets so even if events take a sudden twist or turn, you have friends by your side and new plans or adventures to keep you happy.
Later in the month, there’s a second eclipse in the sign of Pisces ruling money matters on the 26th. This is a Solar or New Moon eclipse and this is the last in an eclipse cycle which has focused on the signs of Virgo and Pisces, your financial sectors, since March 2015.
This may turn out to be a significant date for money or perhaps seeds are sown which will change your financial situation further down the line. This is an eclipse when dreams and imagination are strong with communication planet Mercury in Pisces and creative Neptune next to the Sun and Moon. Don’t ignore a money-making idea that appears to you now.
However, there’s a slippery feel about this combination so keep close tabs on money matters and be attentive to any underhand behaviour. Neptune can spell illusion or betrayal so it’s not a good idea to base your own plans on a promise or speculation. It’s important to find out first what’s real and what’s not.
