Virgo (23 August-22 September)
As August begins, your ruling planet Mercury is in the sign of the moment Leo. Leo is the sign before yours in the horoscope and this is associated with retreat, inner work, slowing life down before you start to pick up pace again once planets move into your sign of Virgo.
This is part of a bigger picture for you, however, as Jupiter, the biggest planet in the heavens, entered Leo mid-July where he remains until August 2015. This is brilliant to immerse yourself in any kind of spiritual work, to focus on the inner rather than the outer, to learn to love yourself on a deep level and to spend more time being quiet and/or alone.
If you’re a typical Virgo, you have a busy mind being ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, but this is a chance to do things differently, to silence the mind, to let your body lead you, to tap into your creative source. See what you feel pulled towards when Mercury and Jupiter connect in the heavens on the 2nd. What you really want to do in life may appear on or around this date as you’re drawn towards doing more of this activity whilst Jupiter remains in Leo.
This sector of your chart is also connected with secrets and confidences. It’s not a time to speak your mind but to come to understand yourself better. You may enjoy the part of your life that’s hidden away from world and in private you’re different to what you’re like in public. You may be a keeper of secrets now or have your own secrets that you don’t want to divulge. As Jupiter is your partner planet, for some, this symbolises a love affair, a private infatuation or keeping quiet about whom or what you love.
More than anything, however, when planets are in Leo, it’s time to take a rest, to slow down the pace and do less not more. Take a holiday or plan a holiday and allow yourself some time away from work and your everyday routine to regroup and charge your batteries. This allows you to gain a new perspective on your life and helps you make key decisions about what’s important and what next.
For some, you find that you’re more confused about love or a relationship this month and know that you’d benefit from some time to yourself or to follow an activity or project that’s yours rather than ‘ours’. Take note of what happens on or around the 5th and 7th when Saturn in your communication sector connects with Chiron and then Mars connects with Neptune both in Pisces ruling your 1-to-1 relationships.
What conversation do you need to have? What do you feel intensely about? This can be a healing time for you when you realise the power of words and speaking your truth. If you’ve been overly-romantic about love or unrealistic about a relationship, now’s the time when you can decide what’s going to work best for you. The 15th is another key date for greater understanding and insight into your current situation.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re in a relationship, married, divorced or single; this is a key time of learning for you with regard to your 1-to-1’s and sometimes it’s through knowing what you don’t want that you arrive at what you do want.
Your energy picks up from the 15th onwards when Mercury, your ruler, enters your sign of Virgo and you’re ready to sort things out, to get organised and put your own needs and wants first. It will be easier to make your mind up once Mercury’s in your sign and feel as if you’re back in charge.
Love remains dreamy especially on the 19th and 29th when first Mercury and then the Sun is opposed by romantic Neptune. You may not know where love’s heading but as long as you’re happy to go with the flow, bliss out and enjoy the ride.
When it comes to your own projects and personal ambitions, you’ll be ready to get busy and start looking at the rest of the year ahead and what you want to achieve before the end of 2014. If you’re studying or in a teaching role, this is an intense month as Mars, the action planet, is in Scorpio and your communication sector and heading towards a conjunction with Saturn on the 25th. You may feel that a period of study or research is relentless or the opposite and you find that you can’t get on a course that you’ve set your heart on.
Take note of what happens on or around the 25th as this is a powerful date for you. Not only does the Mars/Saturn conjunction suggest a strong determination on your part but there’s a New Moon in your sign of Virgo. If there’s something you really want to do in life over the next year or starting in January 2015, you’ve got to push for it. Don’t give up easily but use your skills of negotiation to achieve what you want.
For some, however, this involves stopping a course of study or a path on which you’re set. It could the end of the road for a project in which you’ve been involved for some time. The decision you make on or around the 25th is an important one as it determines your future success so take your time and make it wisely. You’re back in the driving seat and you’re wise to focus on your year ahead.
