VIRGO (23 August-22 September)
Mercury retrograde alert! Your ruling planet begins its retreat through the zodiac on Monday 19th December in your fellow earth sign Capricorn. Communication planet Mercury remains on go slow until January 8th 2017.
Hopefully you have everything organised and ship-shape and you’re ready for the festive fortnight by the time Mercury turns tail. If not, be aware that you will need to allow yourself more time for events and know that it could take you longer to get from A to B. If you’re travelling over the Christmas break, don’t leave it till the last minute.
Mercury’s on go slow in your entertainment sector so here too it’s wise to be flexible but also ask yourself whether you’re having fun. This is high time to review your social life, to look at what pleasure means to you. Are you going to certain parties or social events out of duty or are you doing the things you love in life?
It can be all too easy to get caught up in the Christmas rush without stopping to think whether you’re happy with what’s going on.
On the same day as Mercury turns retrograde, December 19th, passion planet Mars enters Pisces and your relationship sector. This is an interesting dynamic because Capricorn rules romance and Mercury is holding back whereas Pisces rules love and Mars is going for it big time.
This might mean you’re in a situation where you want to put love first but you don’t want to disappoint the children or perhaps there’s an awkward dynamic of who sees the children when.
This will take a little bit of working out and know that when it comes to your close relationships, misunderstandings are likely now. Double check all arrangements and don’t take anything for granted.
Yet romance is definitely up for grabs this Christmas. Your partner is part of the breakthrough astrology that kicks in over Christmas & Boxing Day and the period between Christmas and New Year looks positively blissful.
It’s not the best time to discuss matters or have deep and meaningful conversations with Mercury on go slow but romance and love-making are where the action’s at. The New Moon on December 29th could be positively sizzling, whether this is the start of a big romance or there’s news of a birth or pregnancy.
New Year’s Eve too could be especially sexy this year as action planet Mars teams up with romantic Neptune in your relationship sector on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. You might even be prepared to push the boundaries when it comes to love.
The big astrology this fortnight however lights up your financial axis with Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries. Plus Saturn in Sagittarius and your home and family sector is pulled into the planetary pattern.
This is where change and breakthroughs are likely whether you have some big plans for your home, you receive an unexpected financial gift or you’re willing to loan some money to help out a family member. Whatever you decide over Christmas will turn into a big project in 2017.
