Taurus Monthly Stars December 2014

Christmas giftsTaurus (20 April – 20 May)

There’s some major astrology in the last month of this year which seems fitting for a time when you’re contemplating the year that’s past and ready to set new intentions for the year ahead.

This is an important month to allow yourself the chance to dream and make plans for what next. When you have a big vision for what you want from your life, you can take practical steps towards turning dreams into reality.

Whether travel, holidays, a sabbatical, a course of study or other exciting plans are on the horizon, you’re primed and ready to set your intentions and, in that lovely earth sign way of yours, look at how you can move closer to your chosen goals/wishes. Yet there’s also a time for everything and for some, you know that you first need to complete or let go of something in your life before you’re ready to spread your wings and fly.

There’s a lot of activity that’s going on behind the scenes and you need to prepare yourself inwardly as much as outwardly. Look at your motivations for what you want to do and trust your intuition in knowing when the time is right to move forward.

It’s the middle of the month when these issues/areas are up for examination and you perhaps find an inner battle going on. You want to move forward but there are other pressing reasons holding you back. Timing is the key and it needs to feel right before you can take your next steps.

One of the main reasons for this potential indecision is due to the Uranus-Pluto square which has dominated the heavens since June 2012 and this month on the 15th, these two mighty Gods clash for the sixth time.

Uranus is hidden away in your chart in the previous sign of Aries and here’s the restlessness, the knowledge that things aren’t quite right or gelling together to catapult you forward to the next stage. Pluto is in your fellow earth sign of Capricorn and here’s the link to travel, education, philosophy, spirituality and any area of life that encourages you to see the bigger picture.

Pluto is potentially a transformative planet but this clash may throw up more questions than answers; you take one step forward only to take two steps back. Rather than butt your head against a brick wall, look more closely at what’s stopping you.

It may be a very real reason that someone else needs your care and attention or you have more inner work or preparation to do. Venus, your ruling planet, joins Pluto in Capricorn on the 10th and 10 days later on the 20th, Venus catches up with the Uranus-Pluto square.

In fact, the few days on the run up to Christmas (25th) can bring clarity and by engaging with the struggle within, you see your way ahead more clearly. A glorious New Moon on the 22nd has five planets lined up in Capricorn pointing the way forward. Set your intentions for the year ahead and know that the seventh and final clash between Uranus and Pluto takes place on March 17th 2015 but after that date, you can start to make considerable progress with your bigger dreams and your wishes to live life to the full.

That’s not to say that this month’s uneventful and for some, there will be a chance to visit family abroad over the holidays or to welcome guests to stay with you. Plus, if you decide that this year you want to ring the changes and do things differently, that’s possible too. For some, Uranus in Aries is about enjoying quiet time, being a unique individual and knowing that you don’t have to conform or fit in but choose what you want to do.

The other big planetary shift this month concerns Saturn leaving Scorpio on December 23rd where it’s been since October 2012. Scorpio is your opposite sign so this is about relationships, 1-to-1 interactions. Saturn can represent a lack or some kind of hardship that you need to work at in a relationship. It can bring you and a partner closer as you deal with any difficulties in your life together or it can make you realise that a serious imbalance in a relationship is no longer tolerable and you’re ready to move on.

Either way, Saturn’s shift from Scorpio to Sagittarius is a chance to take off the shackles that bind and get rid of a burden. Saturn will nip back into Scorpio from mid-June to mid-September 2015 but the serious work is done and dusted. You’re ready to embrace lightness in partnership as you move forward either together or on your own.

Saturn shifts gear into Sagittarius, the sign that rules joint finances and shared resources. As Saturn will remain in this sector of your chart for a couple of years, view this as a wake up call to create some structure to your financial affairs. Get your accounts in order and play a long-term game financially as this will help you to feel more secure.

For some, this month is perfect for renegotiating a mortgage or loan and considering how you can make money from your home or the place you live. Take note of what happens on or around the 4th and the 14th and be savvy with your cash. Teaming up with family to make your money go further is highly recommended.

This is a month that favours big thinking, taking a long-term view of your life and setting plans in place so you’re heading in the direction you choose. New Year’s Eve (31st) is the perfect day to raise a glass and celebrate how far you’ve come and show your gratitude for the love and stability in your life. The Moon in your sign of Taurus on New Year’s Eve is a ‘safe harbour’ and a reminder that often the simple things in life matter the most.

    1. I only write about what’s foreground for each sign picking out the main areas of interest. January will be the month to read for huge career developments for Taurus, timing being all important.
