Scorpio May 2018

Scorpio, Uranus lightning

Scorpio (24 October – 22 November)

As May begins, your ruler Mars remains strong in Capricorn and your communication sector. Mars clashed with the formidable planets Saturn and Pluto in the past, but it’s now charging along at a fast rate.

That’s not to say that everything will go swimmingly as May begins and, in fact, it seems as if tempers could flare easily and you might be extraordinarily busy. Mars in Capricorn tends to mean you have lots to organise and manage in your life.

Plus, communication planet, Mercury, is in Aries at the same time, making life even busier. Aries rules your work and routine, your lifestyle and your health and Mercury clashes with both your ruling planets, Pluto on the 7th and Mars on the 12th.

You may be dealing with tricky office politics or be caught up in messy bureaucracy during this period. You don’t really have an option but to keep pushing ahead if this is the case, although events will swing in mid-month to change the landscape.

What is imperative is that you recognise who’s on your side, who can help you and who your friends are moving forward. The Sun is in your opposite sign of Taurus until the 21st, ruling relationships, both personal and professional.

The Sun aligns with Jupiter in Scorpio and your co-ruler Pluto in Capricorn on the 9th and 11th and this is where strength lies. Dodge the difficult people and get the powerful people on your team.

Venus in Gemini is boosting your financial prowess up until the 19th so this is particularly important if you’re involved in any major money transactions. This indicates that help is at hand when you employ the right expert or find the person with the best ideas.

Mid-month brings some exciting and potentially over-the-top planetary activity as four planets change star signs, one after the other. The first to go is communication planet Mercury on the 13th but, before it does so, Mercury teams up with Uranus in Aries for one last time.

You’ve had the unpredictable planet, Uranus, in Aries for the last seven years, so if you’ve been working freelance, job-hopping or your health has been up and down, this is Uranus’ influence. A Mercury/Uranus alliance is great for quick thinking, snap decisions and turning your situation on its head. Technology can be incredibly useful and bring about an answer or result to an issue that’s been frustrating you for some time.

Mercury then moves into your opposite sign of Taurus on the 13th where it remains until the 29th and, two days later, Uranus enters Taurus. This transit is much more meaningful because, apart from the few months from November 2018 to March 2019, Uranus will remain in Taurus and your relationship sector for the next seven years.

Uranus is the planet linked to twists and turns so a relationship could take off like a rocket or perhaps a relationship ends just as suddenly. You might choose an unconventional or younger partner or be ready to experiment with a more unconventional love life. Freedom is Uranus’ byword.

Certainly, there’s an ‘anything goes’ feel to Uranus moving through your relationship sector so expect the unexpected and don’t hold on tight. This coincides with a New Moon in Taurus on the 15th, a symbol of new beginnings or a completely fresh start.

This is not only about love either, but significant people in your life. Notice who turns up out of the blue around the 13th to the 15th. This person could be able to help you out in ways that you could never have imagined previously.

This seems to be linked to what’s happening with your ruling planet Mars. Mars shifts star signs on the 16th and enters Aquarius, the sign at the base of your horoscope. Aquarius rules your home and family, your past and where you come from and Mars remains here for a very long time, in fact, the majority of the next six months.

What happens mid-May may well define where you live or what your family status looks like. Do take care on the 16th itself, however, because Mars immediately runs into Uranus.

These two planets together are volatile and it’s not the time to take a foolish risk or make an impulsive decision. Rein in your impatience or desire to make things happen fast and look before you leap.

There is some lovely astrology taking place after the dramatic goings-on of mid-month. Maybe you have to take a leap of faith and do something difficult, in order to bring about renewal or new beginnings.

Love planet Venus moves into Cancer and your travel and study sector on the 19th and joins hands with Uranus in Taurus. This is perfect for a romantic get-away or perhaps your partner or an ex has something to celebrate.

There’s a Sun-Mars connection on the 24th which brings your home and family sector together with your joint finance sector. The Sun’s in Gemini from the 21st onwards.

This is a jump-to-it combination and moving swiftly can work in your favour. Good news for a property deal perhaps or securing your foundations. The Full Moon on the 29th is another good date to finalise a money matter or transaction.

The most exciting planetary aspect is a gorgeous Jupiter-Neptune connection on the 25th and Jupiter, the big planet, is currently in your star sign Scorpio. This feels loving and giving, charitable and romantic. It’s about trust and faith and knowing that, even if times are tough, there’s still plenty in life to enjoy and cherish.
