Sagittarius (23 November – 21 December)
Action planet Mars is storming through your star sign Sagittarius in February. This highlights your personal aims, your image and profile. You want to be seen and be out in the world and, whatever your chosen goal, make swift progress.
Mars is a physical planet so this would be a good time to start a fitness plan or get proactive with your health or diet. When planets are in Sagittarius, you’re thinking about your body more than usual. Mars here adds drive and stamina to the mix. This is excellent if you’re training for a marathon or you’re committed to regular exercise.
It’s also time to put yourself first and ensure that the world sees who you really are. You might be starting a campaign of self-promotion, perhaps linked to your business, or want to take on a more active role in world events. Your star sign Sagittarius is linked to truth and justice and you’re a natural freedom fighter.
This could be a significant transit because of what’s been going on in your star sign Sagittarius previously and what’s to come. In 2015, 2016 and 2017, the taskmaster of the heavens, Saturn, was in your star sign. This can bring limitation or obstacles your way and sometimes life’s simply harder than usual.
With Saturn out of the way and Mars in its place, you might be more than ready for a turbo boost of energy or achievement. Also, the really significant event of 2018 for you is the fact that your ruling planet Jupiter returns home to your star sign Sagittarius on November 8th. This takes place for the first time in 12 years and Jupiter remains here throughout 2019.
So get your skates on, decide where you’re heading and line up some big goals. You have a visionary nature and you’re at your best when you have long-term plans and a wide vista in front of you. Jupiter in Sagittarius is adventurous, enthusiastic and optimistic. Have faith that what you start this month will breed and bear fruit, leading to one of your best years for some time in 2019.
There’s excitement in the air too because of a stack of planets in air sign Aquarius. The Sun (identity), Mercury (communication) and Venus (relating) are all in this sector of your horoscope as the month begins.
Aquarius rules communication and ideas, it’s buzzing and lively and this is an excellent time to study, learn something new or gain knowledge. Share your ideas with other people, make new friends and come together within your community to teach and study, offer wisdom and experience.
You may be on a social quest, keen to meet new people and extend your social circle. You might be throwing yourself into social media, so you can gather fans or followers for a project or business idea.
All this planetary activity is building towards the most important event of the month which is the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on the 15th. A Solar Eclipse is a turbo-powered New Moon, a symbol of new beginnings and the start of a new chapter. This could bring unexpected news, a phone call or email that sets things in motion and catapults you forward at top speed.
There is often, however, a shadowy or hidden theme around eclipses. If you think of eclipse symbolism, the lights go out temporarily leaving you in the dark. When the light switch flicks back on, you see things differently whether your attitude’s changed or you have new facts to deal with.
This eclipse is part of an eclipse cycle which began in August 2016 and lasts until January 2019. It lights up the communication and education sectors of your horoscope. It’s about your beliefs, your interests, what gives you meaning and purpose in life.
Travel may be slightly chaotic during the eclipse period so bear this in mind and, ideally, wait a few days after the eclipse before setting out on a new journey.
One journey you may decide to take this month is back home because the personal planets start to filter into Pisces and your home and family sector from the 10th onwards. Venus is the first planet to move into Pisces on this date, followed by the Sun and Mercury on the 18th.
This can be a sentimental time and you may be taking an emotional journey into your past. Home and family are under the cosmic spotlight and memories will stir deep within you. Alternatively, you could be dealing with practicalities around the house, sorting out the plumbing or building a pond in the garden.
This is because Neptune is Pisces’ ruler, God of the Sea, and Neptune is prominent this month, on the 21st and the 25th. Water and tears are Neptune’s realm and a family reunion or get-together could prove particularly emotional.
This can be a heartfelt time but also potentially destabilising with Neptune in the mix. You may feel as if your foundations are shifting, as if you’re unsure where safety lies. Perhaps you have a clear sense that the past is ebbing away and you need to move on.
Events mid-month, especially around the 17th, could provide clues as to what this means for you. You might be fighting against what’s happening at home or within your family, but eventually you need to go with it on some level. Ensure you do what’s right for you at the same time as acknowledging where you’re from and your debt to the past.
