Mars Enters Aquarius: Troublemaker

Mars Aquarius

Mars enters Aquarius – March 30, 2020 (19:43)

Mars changes star sign this week and this is an important shift for the planet of action. We’ve already seen that Mars has been acting as an accelerator, a trigger as it moves through this year’s most important star signs, Capricorn and now Aquarius.

Mars’ move into Aquarius this week highlights the star sign which represents society, community, technology & all things future-oriented. It remains here until May 13th and, almost immediately, on March 31st, Mars runs into Saturn at 0 degrees Aquarius.

Jupiter-Saturn Great Conjunction

This is important for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the major Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21, 2020 also falls at 0 degrees Aquarius. As you’ll know if you’ve been keeping tabs on this year’s major astrology, we started with a Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn in January – endings, the reset button, restructuring on a major level.

We end the year with the start of a new 20 year chapter in Aquarius – Jupiter & Saturn often coincide with new rules, new laws, new leadership. The Star of Bethlehem was thought to be a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction which shone bright 3 times during that era, guiding the three kings.

Therefore, it’s important to look ahead right now and decide which initiatives will serve you and help to move you forward ready for the new wave of astrology leading us into 2021. This is the time to start new initiatives within society and consider the lessons we’re learning from our global lockdown situation.

We’re cleaning up our earth, we’re learning to be less of a consumer society, the world is changing. This is a positive time to take your business online or start an online course. There are so many new possibilities and new initiatives opening up as we are forced to travel less and connect in new and different ways.

Mars conjunct Saturn

Writing this on the weekend of March 28/29, it’s likely that we’re heading into a tighter lockdown situation here in the UK. This fits the Mars/Saturn theme in Aquarius. I wrote about the ‘social distancing’ and ‘self-isolation’ aspect of Saturn’s move into Aquarius on March 22nd. You can find the link to the article at the bottom of this page.

Personally, I have a Mars-Saturn opposition in my natal chart so I know how these two planets, the malefics, work together. Mars is speedy & wants to get things done, whereas Saturn is slow & measured. Immediately, there’s a clash, a conflict as the two vie to be in control.

Yet, when you can harness the Mars-Saturn planetary energy, it’s ambitious, determined, courageous & bold. You can take charge, be pro-active, your survival instinct kicks in and your stamina is strong.

The opposite can also be true as Saturn’s fear & doubt takes hold, you lose your way and the brakes are slammed on. You’re paralysed, unable to move as your situation feels rigid.

This is important to note to help you find your way forwards this week. It can be tough astrology – Mars conjunct Saturn – and there are many people in difficult circumstances right now.

It really depends how you’re finding your current situation, whether you are one of the lucky ones and able to rise to the challenge of ‘lockdown’ or you feel battle-weary, anxious and you’re in a place of impossibility.

If this is true for you, be patient and wait for Mars to move away from Saturn. Then, the fear & paralysis will lessen as Mars begins to march forwards and pick up speed.

Mars – Hero, Activist, Troublemaker

Mars is playing such a key role within our astrology right now. Mars rules Aries and this is Aries season. Mars in Aquarius will bring our ‘heroes’ to the fore, as it’s doing already.

The people on the frontline, not only in the emergency services but also the workers keeping us fed, cleaning our bins, delivering our mail. This shift would suggest a rise in volunteers as Mars moves into Aquarius, the sign of the collective.

Mars in Aquarius is a symbol of the activist, the individual making a difference. Ensure you channel your Mars into worthy activities. Here’s hoping that the people who flout the current laws aren’t out to create trouble.

You can be a ‘troublemaker’ in a good way too. Mars wants to act alone but in Aquarius it’s important that we all do what’s best for society.
