Capricorn (22 December-19 January)
Mercury, the communication planet, is now back up to speed in the sign of Aquarius ruling your personal finances. Mercury remains in this sector of your chart until the 17th and it’s a great time to organise your finances, create new filing systems and ‘dot the i’s and cross the t’s’ in any way you see fit.
Hopefully Mercury’s change of direction at the end of February has already brought some good news with regard to money. Remember too that when Mercury turns direct this often brings a theme of second time lucky so you can go back over old ground and try again for a job or money-making idea that first came your way in late January.
On the 5th, Venus, the planet that rules the good things in life, also enters Aquarius where it remains throughout the month. If you have the cash available, this is a perfect time to treat yourself and to spend money on items that are not only useful but beautiful as well. It’s a perfect chance to think about your values in life, what makes you happy, what you want more of and what you want less of.
For some of you, this month is going to be a major turning point bringing a significant change in direction. There are two main reasons for this. Firstly, the planet of action, Mars is up at the top of your chart in the sign of Libra ruling your career and on the 1st Mars turns retrograde, i.e. will be on go slow until May 20th 2014.
This could signify a job or a position of responsibility coming to a halt, something you were chasing that didn’t materialise and you either have to think again or be prepared to wait for a second opportunity further down the line.
This may coincide with a change of heart for you and a decision to rein in your ambition, to quit a position of responsibility or to try to do things differently. You may find that over the next couple of months you’re mulling over what next in your life and you discover that it’s only when you lose your way that you can subsequently discover a new sense of vocation.
So bide your time if you can and be more allowing with regard to work and career and actively go with the flow, however odd that may sound. This is more about you getting things right on the inside and once you have a clearer understanding of what you want, then you can make things happen. It would also be a good time to gain new qualifications or to take a course in career development or read a self-help book if you feel that some guidance would benefit you.
The other planet to turn retrograde is your ruling planet Saturn which is on go slow from the 2nd of this month until mid-July 2014. Saturn’s currently in Scorpio ruling your friendships, group activities and social connections. As this turns retrograde a day after Mars, for some of you this will be about your role in a group or club setting. You may decide to step down from a board or committee.
Again with Saturn retrograde, this does feel as if it’s time to step back and retreat for a while and see what plays out especially if things haven’t been working the way you would like. You may discover that your plans for the future shift now and this may be connected to what’s happening in your life with regard to money.
On the 11th and the 29th Saturn squares Mercury and Venus respectively in your cash sector. You could decide you want less money or you realise that you haven’t enough cash to do some of the things you want to do. It depends on your current situation. If your money’s tied up with a friend or a group, then some key decisions need to be made in this respect as well. It may be that you’re discovering less is more.
The big news for you however this month is about relationships. Venus, the planet of love, has been in Capricorn since early November 2013 and on the 5th Venus leaves your sign. This coincides with a change of direction for the planet of opportunity, Jupiter, which is currently in your opposite sign of Cancer. Jupiter turns direct on the 6th and will remain in forward motion until mid-July 2014.
This may mean that you’re ready to let go of a relationship that’s not happening or working out the way you want and remember that Jupiter rules freedom. But for some this has to be brilliant news about love and it offers you a chance to meet someone who’s on your wavelength and can look after you and make life extremely enjoyable. For others, this indicates a proposal or a decision to move your relationship on to the next stage.
Jupiter’s also about celebration and on the 1st and the 26th Jupiter makes a glorious trine aspect to the Sun and Mercury respectively. These are wonderful dates to say ‘I love you’ and to hear the same in return. There’s a poetic feel about these connections and if you’re looking for love check out the person who lives close by. Making new friends and being sociable may be all you need to do to meet that special person.
