Capricorn (22 December – 19 January)
This is a month of big astrology and for you, this highlights the foundations of your life, the pillars of work, family, self and relationships. You might find yourself at a crossroad with some key decisions to make or you experience challenges because of events in other peoples’ lives, close to you.
It’s the first week of August when some of the important planetary activity takes place. Firstly, on the 3rd, the planet Uranus turns retrograde in Aries down at the base of your chart. Uranus is an unpredictable element and Aries rules your home and family, your past and where you come from.
So you might be moving home or spending August away from your home, perhaps on a house swap or visiting relatives. Uranus represents change and doing things differently from your usual routine.
The following day, on the 4th, there’s a major planetary clash between Jupiter in Libra and your career sector and Pluto in Capricorn, your own sign. This is a powerful combination as Jupiter represents good fortune whereas Pluto’s more closely linked to loss, death and rebirth.
To make sense of this in your own life, it might help to think back to November 2016 when these two planets first clashed. They met again in March 2017. So this is the third and final connection which indicates that something’s ending and you’re moving on.
This might be a job or work role but it could also be your position in the world, a change of status perhaps or a new stage, a new chapter. The key with this planetary aspect is to let go of what’s not working out and to try something new.
This is especially true for you because Jupiter is in action later in the month when it teams up in another powerful planetary aspect with your ruler Saturn. This takes place on the 27th and this combination, a Jupiter-Saturn aspect, indicates progress or a solution to a problem.
If you have difficulties at work early in August, don’t push too hard for answers but let them come naturally. It could be someone from your past who steps in to help and it’s important to trust your intuition.
Another possibility this month is that you take a break from work and return refreshed and ready to take charge once more. Certainly the Jupiter-Saturn connection feels like recommitting to a role or work position. You’re ready to step up a level and sort things out.
Money too might be involved in the bigger changes in your life or what you decide throughout the month of August. In particular, this is about joint finances and emotional ties and it could turn out to be a significant month for your 1-to-1’s. In fact, you can’t stay the same in a relationship and you have to find a way forward that works for everyone.
The reason money feels potentially volatile this month is because of the eclipses which highlight the financial axis of your chart, the signs of Leo and Aquarius.
The first eclipse takes place on the 7th and it’s a Lunar or Full Moon Eclipse. This is often about relationships, needing to take other people into account or finding that your own good fortune or bad fortune is closely connected with the actions of others.
Sometimes what’s hidden comes to light during an eclipse. So ensure your own money is safe and secure and be wary of financial dealings close to the eclipse date.
The second eclipse takes place on the 21st and it’s a Solar or New Moon eclipse in Leo. This feels powerful especially as it aligns almost exactly with Uranus in Aries and your home and family sector. So this feels as if there might be important developments around a property purchase, an inheritance or investment.
You may decide to partner with someone in your family, to pool resources, to help one another out financially. You might be willing to step in if someone else requires your support.
Yet at the same time, don’t be overly giving and ideally wait a few days before taking action or making a major decision. The 26th is a key date in this respect when Venus, the planet of relating, also enters Leo and your joint finance sector.
Hopefully however this Solar Eclipse is about new beginnings for you and an exciting time financially. This might tie in what’s happening at work or with regard to your ideas for the future.
Love too seems to be part of this month’s picture because love planet Venus is in Cancer and your relationship sector until the 26th. Plus Venus runs the gauntlet of the slower-moving planets and picks up the themes of the first week.
Venus clashes with Pluto on the 15th, Jupiter on the 17th and Uranus on the 24th. If your partner or other half has a lot on their plate this month and is dealing with big issues in their own life, this may be why the balance of your relationship shifts. It won’t always be easy what you’re having to deal with but you can both come through this choppy period stronger.
Finally, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde this month on the 13th. Mercury is in Virgo, a fellow earth sign, throughout August highlighting travel and study options. Grab some time away if you can especially if there’s a lot going on in your life. Being somewhere different will help you see life through new eyes.
Note too that it’s important to be flexible and allow plenty of time for travel once Mercury is retrograde, i.e. on go slow. It doesn’t mean not to go on holiday but it does mean to pay close attention to documents and double check timings.
This is the first horoscope that I have read in iver 15 years that is so right on the money it scares me ! I read through several different horoscopes published by different peopk just to see if it woukd even come close to how my month has been and they were soooo off the mark. Then I read this one and I am astinished at the accuracy. Very close!! I hope the rest of the month is on the ball with this horoscope because so far its all accurate.
