ARIES (21 March-19 April)
Two events that take place on the same day create the mood for your festive fortnight. Firstly your ruling planet Mars enters Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, on Monday 19th December where it remains for the next six weeks.
Mars is the action planet and Pisces is an emotional sign that acts on intuition. So this is a mis-match of energies. It could bring out your sensitive nature, your desire to do more for other people, or perhaps it signifies that Christmas will be an emotional time this year.
Either way, Mars in Pisces is ideal for retreat and reflection so ensure you have some time to yourself over the festive period to stop and contemplate your past and review what next.
On the same date, December 19th, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde in Capricorn and your career and vocation sector. So this is another nudge in the direction of slowing down, backing off, taking your time.
For some reason, you have a lot to think about now and even though the end of one year and the beginning of the next is ideal to plan ahead, don’t rush into anything. There might be significant changes regarding your working life that require some careful thought and attention.
It’s likely too that you have some big plans of your own because it’s the planet Uranus in your sign of Aries that triggers the major activity from December 25th to the 29th. Uranus represents change and sometimes when it hits key planets in your chart, it’s the equivalent of a mid-life crisis.
You recognise that life is short and your impulsive nature kicks in seeking adventure, independence, excitement in life. For some this means the end of the road for a partnership as Uranus opposes Jupiter in Libra and your relationship sector on December 26th.
Or perhaps it’s the realisation that it’s time to do things differently when it comes to love. You might decide to shake things up if your love life or your 1-to-1’s have become too predictable.
Christmas Day, December 25th, will certainly bring love your way but whether it’s Love with a capital L or a 1-to-1 intimate relationship depends on your personal situation.
Other people will pick up on the restless vibe this fortnight too and it’s a good time to plan your next big adventure together. December 29th is the date when you could blast into action as Uranus turns direct at 20 degrees Aries.
The period between Christmas and New Year is gorgeous for planning, mind-mapping and using visualisation techniques to get creative about 2017. Yet remember this isn’t the time for action when it comes to your career. You don’t have all the information at your fingertips until Mercury turns direct on January 8th 2017.
Finally, your planet Mars teams up with tipsy Neptune on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. It’s perfect for daydreaming, watching movies back to back and seeing in the New Year with a glass of champagne in hand.
