AQUARIUS (20 January-18 February)
You have one foot in the past and one foot in the future heading towards the end of this year. At times you might feel pulled in two completely different direction and find it hard to meet in the middle.
The past influence is strong for two reasons. Firstly, it’s the Sun’s annual move into Capricorn and the most hidden sector of your chart which begins on December 21st. This time around the Sun is joined by Mercury moving into retrograde phase in Capricorn on Monday 19th December.
So it feels as if the past is catching up on you. You could have a duty visit to attend to this Christmas or you’re back in touch with someone who’s been out of your life for years.
You may be stuck somewhere you don’t want to be whether you’re snowed in, feeling poorly or you made a promise and you can’t get out of it. The combination of the Sun and Mercury retrograde feels karmic as if you’re paying for past dues or know that it’s your turn to repay a favour.
Money too is the mix as action planet Mars lights up your personal money sector from December 19th. You might feel bound to someone financially or ready to pay back what you owe. The period between Christmas and New Year is pivotal in this respect.
Neptune is also in Pisces and your personal money sector and this planet is incredibly charitable and giving. So you may be keen to give your money away, lead a minimalist lifestyle or make a donation to a charity that’s dear to your heart.
The period between Christmas and New Year would also be ideal for a silent retreat or a chance to connect with the spiritual side of the festive season.
Yet this is only one planetary influence in the next fortnight. In addition, there’s some lively, future-oriented astrology taking place. This is because of the major Christmas astrology which involves both your co-rulers, traditional Saturn and modern Uranus.
Together these two planets light up sociable sectors of your chart so you can expect this to be an important Christmas for community activities. You might be hanging out with your siblings and cousins or helping out in your local community.
The theme of the collective is strong over this period and you could be pulled by your principles or beliefs to do something extraordinary. Jupiter in Libra lights up your travel and study sectors, so a last-minute trip may be on the cards or you set an intention to learn a language in record speed or something similar.
Love too is part of the picture because love planet Venus is in your sign of Aquarius and is incredibly lively on Christmas Day itself, December 25th. You could be willing to do something impulsive all in the name of love, whether this is love for another person or your love of life.
On New Year’s Eve too, the Moon is in Aquarius so the big dates this year find you taking centre stage. In one way or another, you’re going to be doing things your way now, whether other people like it or not.
