Patience is required in April as key retrograde planets keep you guessing and your own plans chop and change as a consequence. One of the personal planets that’s retrograde as April gets underway is your ruling planet Venus.
Venus has been retrograde or on go slow since March 4th and turns direct this month on April 15th. This date takes place over the Easter weekend and this could prove to be a significant turning point in the month.
Venus has been hidden away in your chart in your preceding sign of Aries but on the 3rd Venus retreats back into Pisces, one of the water signs, where she was in January and early February 2017.
Venus in Pisces is compassionate and giving and Pisces is linked to your friends, group activities, networks, the social scene. You may be trying to revive a connection that was important to you earlier in the year or perhaps you’re drawn back to a significant friendship situation.
This shift from Aries to Pisces feels like forgiveness, wanting to let go of hurt or regret, the desire to do things differently. Yet Venus doesn’t have an easy run in Pisces because she squares up to Saturn on the 8th and 21st. Saturn can stop you in your tracks and this combination often indicates the ‘get real’ factor.
Practicalities could be an issue now, perhaps linked to joint finances or shared resources. Saturn in Sagittarius highlights one of your money sectors and as Saturn represents lack rather than plenty, be careful where you invest or spend your money now.
Yes, it’s good news that Venus is back up to speed mid-month but Saturn’s waving a red flag. Take the pace slow when it comes to both love and money and conserve or consolidate what you have or own.
You may need to step into the breach this month in order to help other people. April’s a month when your confidence slowly builds and your inner strength holds firm. Action planet Mars is in Taurus until the 21st and on the 19th, the Sun enters your sign of Taurus beginning your birthday month.
So focus on your strengths and what you’re good at. Persistence, reliability, a slow and steady approach to life will serve you well. Keep doing what you do best. Be an anchor for others, stand your ground, but at the same time be vulnerable enough to ask for help when you need it.
The Full Moon in Libra on the 11th is a heady mix when your work and routine, your lifestyle and health are under the cosmic spotlight. This Full Moon pulls in the powerful Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that dominates the heavens for much of 2017. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or you need some time out, tap into your inner voice, your intuition.
The Full Moon coincides with another important planetary factor as communication planet Mercury turns retrograde on the 10th and remains on go slow until May 3rd. Mercury is in your sign of Taurus as it shifts direction, so be prepared for your plans to change suddenly. Be flexible and ready to review what you want and why.
Mercury dives back into Aries on the 20th and this indicates that there’s some inner work to complete, a time of preparation isn’t over quite yet. So much of your astrology this month is about taking one step forward, followed by one step back. You can’t rush into new plans now and in fact, you’d be wise to wait a while longer and let your ideas marinade well.
There are special moments that stand out however and the New Moon in Taurus is one of them. This takes place on the 26th and even though Mercury is retrograde, the New Moon remains a symbol of new beginnings. At the very least, this is an ideal time to set your intentions and review your goals for 2017.
This is your New Moon, a fresh start, the beginning of your new zodiac year. If things haven’t worked out or you’re on the wrong track, stop and look again at where you’re heading and what next. It’s OK to say that you’ve made a mistake or to acknowledge that something hasn’t worked out the way you want it to.
This month’s dominant theme is be about recognising what’s going well in your life and where you need to make significant changes. A holiday, a change of scene would help and when planets are retrograde, this is often a good time to get away in order to gain a fresh perspective.
The 6th is wonderful for making travel or study plans and the Easter weekend would be a good time to do something completely different.
Your ruler Venus turns direct over the Easter weekend on Saturday 15th and two days later, Venus and Mars unite in the heavens. Be with people you love, hang out with your friends, try again if necessary with someone close to you. There may be a theme of renewal or rebirth, a time for second chances.
Slowly, slowly though and don’t feel you have to issue an ultimatum or know exactly where you stand. You have a way to go yet before the planets are back up to speed and you’re able to surge ahead. The turning point may come for you mid-May.
Until then, look after no. 1 and focus on what you want and need, especially once the Sun is in your sign of Taurus after the 19th. Two days later on the 21st, action planet Mars enters Gemini and your personal money sector.
This is about you rather than other people. It feels independent rather than united. It’s about looking after you and being the rock, the oak tree for yourself first and other people second.
Your ruling planet Mercury is crazy slow for a lot of the month and this is a clear indication that April might not be the best time to try and get ahead. As April begins, Mercury is in Taurus, the most hidden sector of your chart but slowing down. Then on the 10th, Mercury turns retrograde and remains on go slow until May 3rd.
So what’s coming to a halt in your life, where do you feel incapacitated or helpless? If you can, take some time out now to clear your head, this will help you to gain a fresh perspective on your personal situation. Sometimes when you have a key planet in the most hidden sector of your chart, you’re having to deal with a secret or confidence.
It’s also important to remember that once Mercury is retrograde or on go slow, then you’re wise to review or reassess your situation. You may have to go backwards before you can move forwards, whether you’re retracing your steps or lost in the past.
This may apply to your work situation or your confidence. You want to make sense of things but it’s hard to do so when things remain hidden. If you can still the chatter in your mind and find a way to access your inner voice, your intuition, this would be an ideal time to do so. A retreat or meditation course could help.
There will be some key turning points this month and there may be some unexpected twists and turns too. It’s important to recognise that everything isn’t up to you right now and other people will play their part.
This is especially true at work or with regard to your career or vocation. The planet of love and relating, Venus, moves back into Pisces and this sector of your chart from the 3rd to the 28th. On its own, this would suggest a good time to turn to others but until the 15th Venus is retrograde or on go slow. Plus, on the 8th and 21st, Venus clashes with Saturn in your opposite sign of Sagittarius.
So this could be a month when you realise who’s on your side and who’s not, who can help you and who hinders your progress. Take relationships slow, especially when it comes to professional connections. Someone may let you down, you might have to cover at work for absences or perhaps you find that you and someone close can’t see eye-to-eye.
As Venus rules love, this wouldn’t be a good time to mix business and pleasure and you’d do well to avoid any love liaison that interferes with work. If you are looking for love, this month you’re better off asking for an introduction via your friends or improving your social life first.
Yet there will be moments when you can get ahead and even though some of your friendships could be flaky, you’re wise to turn to your friends for help and advice. Certainly this is where fun can be found even if you’re drawn towards a crazy or wild individual.
If you know that you’re ready for a shake-up and you’re in need of inspiration, look out for who comes into your life on or around the 14th and 28th when madcap Uranus livens up your social life.
Plus with your ruler Mercury retrograde in Aries from the 20th, you may find that getting together with old friends is a welcome tonic. A school reunion perhaps or a childhood sweetheart who reappears in your life.
The Full Moon on the 11th may also coincide with an awakening and it’s a powerful Full Moon as it pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that’s dominated the heavens in 2017. This could bring a revelation around love and romance, children or pregnancy. It’s a potent mix of planetary energy. Sometimes you need things to be blown up big in your life in order to feel where your heart lies.
On a personal level, you’re back in the driving seat once action planet Mars enters your sign of Gemini on the 21st, where it remains until June 4th. This boosts your strength and being physical goes hand-in-hand with Mars’ masculine energy.
Even if you don’t have all the answers with Mars in your sign, it’s more active, dynamic and go-getting. You’re in preparation, ready to put yourself first and step up a gear.
Yet the truth is that it will be hard to move things forward whilst key planets remain in Taurus and the hidden sector of your chart and your ruler Mercury is on go slow. So be kind to yourself, don’t get agitated if not everything works out the way you want it to.
Sometimes a lesson is presented to you in learning to let go or at least learn from your mistakes. The New Moon in Taurus on the 26th would be an ideal time to step back from life and to take good care of you. If you need pampering, book in a massage. If you want some time alone, find a good book and lose yourself in other peoples’ lives, other worlds.
Your turn will come but up until mid-May, it’s worth conserving your energy and recognising that this is an inbetween month, a time when you’re in limbo. Know too that you’re likely to be pulled back towards your past now whether you’re feeling sentimental or you feel incomplete in some way and want to resolve a personal issue.
It’s not the easiest of months, but there’s still potential to learn a lot, to discover personal insights and understanding. In fact, what you find out about yourself in the coming weeks might help you reorient your compass and do things differently when you’re ready to take charge in your life once again.
As April begins, the Sun is in Aries, the sign at the peak of your birth chart, representing your career and vocation, your status and reputation. Traditionally this is the time to aim high and the Sun remains here until the 19th.
Yet this is no ordinary month and you might find you have some big decisions to make now when it comes to your future and what next in life. There may be different reasons for this but one is perhaps linked to colleagues, a business partner, someone you work with on a regular basis.
This is because the planet of relating, Venus, has been in Aries since early February but on the 3rd of this month, Venus retreats back into Pisces. This means that Venus is retrograde, i.e. on go slow, and has been moving back through Aries and your career sector since March 4th.
This can indicate problems with someone you work with, someone who’s gone quiet on you or disappeared. You may have been in love with someone at work or infatuated with your boss or a person in a position of power.
Either way, things need to shift now and it’s time to try a different approach. Perhaps this person leaves your place of work or you decide that you’re ready to take a break. Know too that Venus in Pisces lights up your travel sector and Venus turns direct over the Easter weekend on Saturday 15th.
So a trip away, a holiday, some time out, a short sabbatical, this could be what you need now to get your head around what’s happening at work, at home and where you’re heading next.
There could be some kind of block or limitation around what you do on a daily basis. This is because Saturn clashes with Venus on the 8th and 21st and Saturn is currently in Sagittarius, ruling your work and routine, your lifestyle and your health.
You might need time out to look after you or perhaps you’re bored with your current position or role. This is not a month when you can avoid what you’re feeling and if you recognise that change would be a good thing, here’s your opportunity.
It may even take you being pushed or challenged in some way for you to recognise that it’s time to think again. Where do your priorities lie?
The other major planetary event that’s important with regard to the bigger picture of your life is the Full Moon which takes place on the 11th. This Full Moon cuts across the foundations of your chart as it falls in the sign of Libra, ruling your home and family, your past and where you come from.
At the Full Moon, the Moon in Libra is opposite the Sun in Aries and they pull in the powerful Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that’s dominating the heavens for much of 2017. This combination is about change and at its best can signify a breakthrough, a valuable realisation. Yet squares are clashing so perhaps you feel pulled in different directions.
Being a Sun Cancer, home and family are important to you and the Moon sits next to lucky Jupiter in Libra during this Full Moon period. It might be hard for you now if other people don’t agree with what you want and extremely challenging if your own happiness depends on other peoples’ actions.
This Full Moon creates conflict between home and family, your partner or ex, your career and future path. See what’s illuminated during the Full Moon and over Easter, make your move. There’s nothing to be gained now from staying put and in fact, it might well be that life steps in to move you forward.
You could even decide to do something crazy and unexpected, whether this is a decision to leave your place of work, to put love before career or move to a completely new location. Anything goes and it’s the Easter weekend, the 14th and 15th, when you’re ready to say Yes to life.
Yet there is another factor to take into account and this is Mercury retrograde. Mercury is the communication planet and on the 10th, Mercury switches direction and will be on go slow until May 3rd. In addition, Mercury re-enters Aries on the 20th so this could indicate more twists and turns and make any simple decision more complex.
Often when Mercury’s in retreat, you have to go back over old ground or review or reassess your situation. Events early in the month may well bring clarity, a desire to act but you can’t run before you walk with Mercury on go slow.
In fact, some of the decisions you make now or the steps you take will have to be revisited next month. It’s only mid-May when there’s a surge of energy and after some stops and starts you’re back in flow. Bear this in mind during April and know that this is a complex month with two of the personal planets retrograde.
When it comes to love, the astrology symbolises that a holiday romance could be what you need but it may not continue when you get back to your everyday life. The 6th is an important date for your 1-to-1’s when your partner planet Saturn changes direction in the zodiac and there’s a powerful Mars-Pluto connection. Pluto is currently in Capricorn and your relationship sector.
There’s solidity in these planetary aspects and you’re likely to know whether a relationship is on or off, where it works well or where it doesn’t. Does a partner give you what you want or does s/he back away? Be firm in your relationships and state your terms. This is a potentially unsettling month so let a partner know if you need more from them.
Friends too are there for you once the Sun enters Taurus and your friendship sector on the 19th. Yet with Mercury up to its tricks, you may also recognise who’s loyal and who’s not. So many areas of life now are in flux, shifting, changing. Use this time wisely to sort out what you want and who to draw closer in to your private circle.
As April begins, your ruler the Sun is in your fellow fire sign of Aries. This lights up the side of your personality that thrives on adventure. Aries rules the bigger picture in life; it’s linked to travel and study, the law, publishing and foreign connections.
So one thing’s for sure, this is month when wanderlust kicks in and you’re keen to get new ideas and plans off the ground. This is all well and good and there’s nothing wrong with exploring your options and lining up some new activities to look forward to.
However, it is important to recognise that this is a double retrograde month, with both Venus (relating) and Mercury (communication) on go slow at different times and overlapping in the middle of the month. So the general rule of thumb is keep the inspiration bubbling away, but be flexible and willing to change track when necessary.
The Full Moon on the 11th is important in this respect because it takes place on the day after Mercury turns retrograde on the 10th. The Full Moon cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac and lights up your travel and education sectors. Yet this Full Moon doesn’t act alone. It pulls in the powerful Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that dominates the heavens for much of 2017.
This means that it would be easy now to get carried away, to over-inflate ideas and projects, without thinking things through first. There’s a Vegas-or-bust feel about this combination, a ballon that flies so high it’s in danger of bursting. What you’re planning could be a gamble, a huge risk, exciting but scary too.
So be aware of this possibility and without wanting to burst your bubble, remember to keep your feet on the ground and check out what you want to do via other people. Sometimes it simply takes a while to get the best plans moving and this might be the case for you. You may have to trial a few bloopers before you discover the formula that works.
If this is the case, keep experimenting, keep trying and actively engage with what works and what doesn’t. If you’re really keen to move abroad, to have your book published, to start a new course of study, set things in motion but be prepared to keep refining what you want until you discover the perfect formula.
Communication planet Mercury moves back into Aries on the 20th and this often indicates that you need to review and reassess your plans, your ideas. Mid-May is the turning point when the obstacles fall away and you’re in business.
There’s a strong focus now on being successful, making things happen. This is because there’s major activity taking place in Taurus, the sign that rules your career and vocation, your future and where you’re heading.
Action planet Mars is here until the 21st and this is an ambitious Mars. Mars gives you the drive to get-ahead, even if you have to be persistent and disciplined to achieve your goals. Yet Mercury is also up to its tricks in Taurus and is retrograde here from the 10th to the 20th.
So you may land that top job or nab a promotion but you can’t start immediately. Perhaps you have grand ideas for your work, your business but you run into problems or someone retracts their interest. Mercury turning retrograde often signals a change of mind, whether this is down to you or someone else.
Once the Sun enters Taurus on the 19th, then you’re starting to fly and there are two dates which look especially intriguing. The first is when the Sun meets up with communication planet Mercury briefly on the 20th just before Mercury leaves Taurus and your career sector. A last-minute meeting or conversation could save the day.
The second date is the New Moon on the 26th which also falls in Taurus. This could be the green light that you’re waiting for, that brings in the news you were hoping for. New Moons are a symbol of new beginnings, an excellent date to set your intentions, to try something new.
Yet this New Moon isn’t brilliant for a major launch, simply because Mercury remains on go slow until May 3rd. Instead, use it to plan, to get ahead, to seek out new opportunities. Perhaps you want to take a short trip before you commit to a new job or learn something new before you launch a project. Again, the turning point is likely to be mid-May when Mercury returns to this same sector of your chart.
The other planet retrograde in April is Venus, the planet of love and money. Venus turns direct in Pisces on the 15th after six weeks on go slow. It only dips into Pisces however. I’s a good idea to think back to January and early February when Venus was lighting up this same sector of your chart.
Can you revive an association from back then, do you need to return to the past in some way to bring a financial or emotional matter to completion? Easter weekend is the turning point, although new guidelines might have to be agreed before you can make progress.
Love too is highlighted over Easter so perhaps love and money are linked. Your ruler the Sun teams up with Uranus on Friday 14th and Saturn on Monday 17th. Both planets are connected to relationships in your birth chart so this feels pivotal. Plus with Venus turning direct on Saturday 15th, this would definitely be a time to try again when it comes to love.
With someone special by your side, you can start to gain the inspiration and support you need to move your life on to the next stage. You’ll discover who that person is in the second half of the month.
This is a month to stop and think which is always wise advice when your ruling planet Mercury turns retrograde. As April begins, Mercury is in your fellow earth sign of Taurus stirring up your wanderlust. Yet this is a slow-moving Mercury and on the 10th, Mercury switches direction and remains retrograde i.e. in retreat, until May 3rd.
This reawakens your daydreaming, your desire to focus on the bigger picture, to make more of your everyday life, but it’s not necessarily the right time to act. In fact, once Mercury switches direction you could find that your priorities change or you discover what’s going to work out and what’s not.
You may have to revisit your options because one door becomes closed to you, one path in life arrives at a dead end. Bear this in mind with Mercury turning tail and know that when it comes to travel and study plans, you can’t rush into anything.
This may be difficult to hear because action planet Mars is in Taurus until the 21st and on the 19th, the Sun enters Taurus. So your desire for a better life, to play big isn’t going away. In fact, if anything, stirrings of discontent will only grow louder as April continues.
You may find that you can begin new activities now but perhaps not in the way you originally envisaged. The 6th is a good date to note in this respect, when Mars in Taurus teams up with Pluto in Capricorn, creating an earthy triangle with your own sign Virgo.
If you want to make things happen, here’s your opportunity. It might mean settling for a weekend away rather than fulfilling a longer dream or staying focused on your long-term goals. Be persistent, an earth sign strength.
There are two other key dates when you can pursue new plans, even if Mercury is up to its tricks. The first is the 20th when the Sun meets Mercury just before Mercury leaves Taurus. You might have to act fast but a conversation or idea could plant seeds that can grow and flourish.
The second date is the New Moon in Taurus on the 26th. New Moons are a symbol of new beginnings and ideal to set new intentions. Look out for any opportunity to expand your world, take the initiative, plan ahead. Your ruler Mercury will be back in Taurus mid-May so you might want to reschedule a trip, a course or another inspiring opportunity for then.
Wherever you’re heading this month, ensure you give yourself plenty of time to get from A to B, be flexible and keep your earthy sense of humour intact.
Money matters are likely to be a key factor this month too as it’s here where there could be some twists and turns. There’s a Full Moon which cuts across the financial axis of your birth chart on the 11th, the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac.
Full Moons are illuminating when the light of the Moon is at its brightest. This is also a powerful Full Moon because it pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square which dominates the heavens for much of 2017.
So this is about playing for big stakes, it ramps up the volume of life and you hear loud and clear whether you’re about to win big or crash out of the game. You are going to have to take some risks financially now and perhaps events over Easter will point the way forward or give you a hint where success lies.
Yet bear in mind that your ruling planet Mercury retreats into Aries on the 20th and remains retrograde here until May 3rd. So keep your options open, keep your financial cards close to your chest and play a clever game. This is when you need to engage your brilliant mind for facts and figures and have your common sense on high alert at all times.
Uranus is also in the picture, the unpredictable planet, as Uranus teams up with the Sun on the 14th and your ruler Mercury on the 28th. On its own, this would suggest high stakes for any financial investment or scheme. Yet Saturn is involved too and Saturn is currently in Sagittarius, acting as an anchor.
Sagittarius rules your home and family, your past and where you come from. If you’re involved in a property move or you’re dealing with inheritance or a family business, this month the heat is on. Yet Saturn and Uranus are working together, as a team.
This indicates that it’s not a time to go it alone when it comes to money or risk your own cash. Yet act strategically and you can do well financially. Other people, family perhaps, may provide the backing, the support, the security you need.
You will have to play a waiting game but once Mercury is back to direct motion early in May, you’ll know then whether your clever moves have paid off.
This is also potentially a big month for your love life because love planet Venus returns to romantic Pisces and your relationship sector on the 3rd, where it remains until the 28th. Venus is back where she was in January and early February so events then may help you identify what’s happening now.
This may be about a second chance or a second disappointment. Venus isn’t acting alone in Pisces as it clashes with Saturn on the 8th and 21st. This adds the ‘get real’ factor to love so it’s not all champagne and roses. Maybe you can revive a past love but with new guidelines, new boundaries in place.
For some, this might be the time when you recognise you’re ready to move on or let go. Easter weekend is likely to be the turning point as Venus switches direction on Saturday 15th. Will love be reborn or will you surrender to your current situation? Monday 17th is an ideal date to sort things out amicably.
This is an important month for you but one that’s not easy to navigate thanks to two of the personal planets in retrograde motion, i.e. in retreat through the zodiac. The first planet that’s on go slow is your ruling planet Venus.
Venus has been in retrograde motion since March 4th in your opposite sign of Aries. Yet early this month on the 3rd, Venus re-enters the water sign Pisces before turning direct on the 15th, over the Easter weekend. Pisces rules your work and routine, your lifestyle and your health and Venus dips her toe in to this sector of your chart. By the 28th, she’s moving on.
So what do you need to revisit and why? Venus was in Pisces in January and early February 2017 and for some reason, you either have to backtrack or you can benefit from picking up where you left off.
This time around, there’s a significant difference because it’s important to put new guidelines in place and recognise when you need to say No rather than Yes. This is because Venus clashes with Saturn, the planet of limitation, on the 8th and 21st, which adds the ‘get real’ factor to your situation. You might be up against the boss or the authorities and if so, it’s unlikely that you can get your own way.
The time for you to mull over what you want and what’s best for your work and your health is the Easter weekend. Venus’ switches direction on Saturday 15th so take some time to think what next and recognise whether a work situation has run its course or you’re ready to change things around in some other way.
Money could be a factor, especially as there’s a strong influence on joint finances and shared resources throughout April. Action planet Mars is in Taurus and your money sector until the 21st so engage with money matters and push for answers.
This is important to do so early in the month and the 6th could turn out to be significant in this respect. Mars teams up with Pluto in Capricorn and your home and family sector on this date. Together these two planets promise accomplishment and when you’re forceful, you can transform your situation.
This could spell good news for a property sale, an inheritance or other money that’s owed. If you need to ask for help, either financially or emotionally, this would be a good date to choose.
It’s also important to note that the other planet which turns retrograde in April is Mercury, the planet of communication. Mercury switches direction in Taurus on the 10th so ideally sign and seal a deal before then.
You may need to review your finances after the 10th or reassess your situation. You could find that you’re having to wait on money owed or someone breaks their promise. This is an ongoing and changing picture so be both patient and persistent to ensure you don’t lose out.
On the 19th, the Sun enters Taurus and immediately connects with Mercury on the 20th, just before Mercury changes signs. So this would be a good date to re-negotiate or rethink your plans. A few days later on the 26th, there’s a New Moon in Taurus and New Moons are a symbol of new beginnings.
This is an excellent date to set your intentions around money, to take the initiative, to seek out new cash opportunities. Set yourself up well and you could be quids in come mid-May when Mercury returns to Taurus and your ruling planet Venus moves out of its shadow phase.
April is a month when people matter to you and although you’re wise to work together with others, you might have to accept that not everyone is on your side. There’s a lot going on in your opposite sign of Aries now and both Venus and Mercury spend some time retrograde here. Venus until the 3rd and Mercury from the 20th to May 3rd.
So people may surprise you and not always in a good way. The date that could prove most revealing is the 11th when there’s an amazing Full Moon in your sign of Libra, cutting across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac.
Full Moons are illuminating, you see your situation clearly. This Full Moon is especially powerful as it pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square which dominates for much of 2017. So you may see someone’s true colours at this time or recognise where you can win and where you might lose.
This combination means that someone won’t play fair or has a different agenda to your own. It’s hard to juggle the different areas of your life at this time, especially home, family and personal relationships. Keep an open mind and be willing to compromise without giving in.
The Sun is in Aries until the 19th and the Easter weekend could prove powerful for your 1-to-1’s. There’s plenty of excitement around love and relationships this month but it’s not a stable or steady picture by any means.
The Sun runs into unpredictable Uranus on Friday 14th, the day before your ruling planet Venus turns direct. Uranus often indicates sudden stops or starts; love either ignites beautifully or the switch flicks off.
Once Venus turns direct, it’s time to act and ensure your own needs are met. By doing the right thing, you make way for a new phase in love and relationships. Once Venus re-enters Aries on the 28th, this is when love can flourish again.
Try and pace yourself throughout April, especially when it comes to love and personal relationships. As the month begins, your ruling planet Mars is in your opposite sign of Taurus where it remains until the 21st, so other people matter to you now. Taurus is a sensual sign and it’s important to take things slowly.
This applies to both personal and professional partnerships and the key date to note is the 6th when there’s a Mars-Pluto alliance in the heavens. This is powerful for you because Mars is your traditional ruler and Pluto your modern ruler and early this month, they are working together.
The 6th is a brilliant date to make an alliance, to use your network, to seek out new contacts. What you put in place now could last you a life-time, it’s that good.
It’s also important to get on with things and push for answers because from the 10th, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus and your relationship sector. This invariably brings a change of mind for you or someone close. Ideas get dropped, plans don’t materialise, stuff happens and you have to move on.
Mercury remains on go slow in Taurus until the 20th and the period from the 10th to the 20th is especially tricky to navigate. You might be waiting on someone’s answer or perhaps someone close goes quiet on you. Try not to push too hard if this is the case and take a step back and be allowing instead.
This feels as if it could be a major month for love and romance because love planet Venus is in Pisces and your romance sector from the 3rd to the 28th. Yes, Venus is on go slow until the Easter weekend but then it turns direct on Saturday 15th bringing with it an awakening.
Venus returns to a point in the zodiac where it was in January and early February so events then may be pivotal with regards to what’s happening now. There is a sense of love being reborn over the Easter weekend or at least a theme of second chances.
It’s not an easy month to negotiate, simply because there are many twists and turns and perhaps different people to take into account. Money too could be a factor as Venus clashes with Saturn in Sagittarius and your personal money sector on the 8th and 21st.
Saturn represents lack rather than plenty and money could be an issue now in a key relationship. At the very least, it’s important to draw up some new guidelines with regard to love and money and to set firm boundaries in place.
On the 19th, the Sun enters Taurus and almost immediately connects with a retrograde Mercury just before Mercury leaves your relationship sector on the 20th. Grab a chance to talk when you can or arrange an important meeting or interview.
There’s also a glorious New Moon in Taurus on the 26th, a symbol of new beginnings. So whether you’re rekindling love, falling in love or letting go of love, this isn’t a month when love can stand still. Engage fully with the process, be patient and kind but recognise when someone’s behaviour is shabby and be clear about what you deserve.
The other key areas to focus on in April are your work and routine, your lifestyle and your health. This is because of lively activity in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. The Sun starts the month in Aries where it remains until the 19th.
There’s a Full Moon on the 11th that cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac, lighting up this same sector of your chart. Full Moons are illuminating and this is a powerful Full Moon because it pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square which dominates the heavens for much of 2017.
This could out to be a dramatic time for you, perhaps because you’re striving to break free from a position or a person that holds you back. If you’re bored with your work, you may be seeking pastures new. If you want to reboot your health, you could be looking for alternative treatments or remedies.
The Easter weekend is important too as this may offer you a chance to do things differently. The Sun connects with spontaneous Uranus on Friday 14th and teams up with sensible Saturn on Monday 17th.
So look for new ways to improve what you already do. Find an inventive solution to an old problem. If money’s held you back in the past, you could come up with a brilliant idea on how to solve a personal issue, related to your work or your health.
It is important not to give up whilst at the same time recognising which doors are closed to you and where it’s worth pushing a little harder. Communication planet Mercury retreats into Aries and your work and health sector on the 20th and remains on go slow until May 3rd.
This suggests a theme of second chances and it’s the ideal time to review and reassess your situation. There will be surprises along the way, most prominently on the 14th and 28th, but you can make progress as long as you’re prepared to take one step forward and one step back.
Think of this period as preparation for what’s to come. Sow seeds that can grow and flourish, take a well-calculated risk, dare to be different. Action planet Mars, your ruler, also changes signs on the 21st when it enters multitasking Gemini.
Another indication to keep your options open, especially where work and money are concerned. The turning point comes mid-May when you discover which new work or health route is your fast track to success.
The Sun is in your fellow fire sign of Aries as the month begins and this is good news for you. Aries rules one of the most fun sectors of your chart linked to play, entertainment, creativity and romance.
There’s a child-like quality to the sign of Aries and you may be more than ready to let your hair down and enjoy yourself. Hang out with your kids or grand-kids to inspire you or line up some events and get-togethers with friends.
The social side of life could be a positive outlet for you at the moment. If you’ve been away from the social scene for whatever reason, you might now feel ready to get out and about and forget about any personal worries for a while.
Yet there is a stop-start feel to this month’s astrology and it’s important to realise that not all your plans will work out. This is because there are two personal planets retrograde in April. The planet of love and relating, Venus, is on go slow until the 15th and communication planet Mercury is on go slow from April 10th to May 3rd.
It’s always important to keep your schedule flexile when there’s a retrograde influence and understand that you can’t always rely on other people. Venus rules relating and Mercury is your partner planet, so enjoy yourself but don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Ensure you have a wide circle of friends and associates to keep you happy.
This could also be a complex month for love and relationships. Venus has been retrograde in Aries and your romance sector since March 4th but leaves here on the 3rd. Yet Mercury picks up the Aries baton on the 20th, also in retrograde motion.
Sometimes this suggests that love comes and goes or there’s a stop-start feel to romance. Here too it’s wise to be flexible. Plus, there are other planetary factors why it’s best to be less attached rather than more. The Full Moon on the 11th cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac and this is an important Full Moon for you.
On the one hand, it suggests a party or celebration, a chance to have fun. Yet on the other hand, it pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that dominates the heavens for much of 2017 so there’s a lot going on during this period.
If you know you have a hedonistic side to your nature, this is when you’ll be in full flow. Your ruling planet is Jupiter and its connection to Uranus indicates that anything goes. You might find yourself caught up in a triangle situation, whether your behaviour upsets a friend or it’s someone close to you who goes over the top.
So be aware of this and keep clear boundaries in place so as not to fall out with a group of friends or someone close. Yet at the same time, if you know you need to enjoy yourself and it’s important to you, forget what other people think for now and do what’s right for you.
There’s a love spark in the second half of the month as well, when spontaneous Uranus ignites the Sun on the 14th and Mercury on the 28th. This could be when a new love relationship bursts into flower and it’s a lively combination for romance.
Plus the planet of passion Mars enters Gemini and your relationship sector on the 21st where it remains until June 4th. So relationships are going to become more important to you as the month progresses and even though you may not know exactly where you stand until mid-May, it’s a positive period to actively engage with your 1-to-1’s.
If you’re in a relationship or married, there may be other factors to take into account. Love planet Venus retreats back into Pisces and your home and family sector on the 3rd where it remains until the 28th. Venus was in Pisces in January and early February so this could trigger events back then.
The turning point comes over the Easter weekend as Venus turns direct on Saturday 15th. This would be a wonderful time to spend with family or the people closest to you. There’s a theme of forgiveness with Venus in Pisces and it’s a lovely time to connect.
Yet notice too whether there’s an imbalance of giving and receiving this month, especially when it comes to family or the people you live with. Saturn in your sign of Sagittarius clashes with Venus on the 8th and 21st.
This can flag up a disappointment or it may mean that you need to set new guidelines in place. If you’re doing too much for others or you want to rein in your emotions, do what’s necessary to look after yourself as well as others.
Your work and health also matter this month with key planets in the steady earth sign of Taurus. You need strong foundations now, whether this is a regular job or daily habits that help you feel grounded and secure.
Communication planet Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus on the 10th so don’t take work or a job for granted now. Prove that you can be steady and reliable, even if and especially if other people are behaving the opposite.
The 20th is a good date to talk work or health when the Sun and Mercury unite and the 26th is a lovely date to apply for a job or set new work or lifestyle intentions. This is the day of a New Moon in Taurus, perfect for starting something new that benefits you on a daily level.
It would be easy to slip into overwhelm this month especially if you feel you’re juggling too many different roles. There’s a lot of activity taking place down at the base of your chart representing your home and family, your past and where you come from.
The Sun is in Aries and this sector of your chart as April begins but it quickly runs into some major planetary aspects. This is centred around the Full Moon on the 11th that cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac and the foundations of your birth chart.
Full Moons illuminate polarity in your life and reveal where you’re pulled in different directions. Yet this Full Moon is especially powerful for you and not only because the Moon is at the peak of your chart in the sign of Libra, ruling your career and vocation, your status and reputation.
This Full Moon pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square which dominates the heavens for much of 2017. This adds extra charge to the situation and it will reveal where your life is out of control. If you’re finding it hard to focus on your career as well as your family or you sense that the work/life balance is out of kilter, you have to look at where and how you can do things differently.
With Pluto in on the act in your sign of Capricorn. this is potentially an explosive Full Moon especially if you feel you’ve been taken for granted or other people aren’t pulling their weight. Rather than fly off the handle, look at where you can set new boundaries and decide whether it’s time to say No rather than Yes.
This is important if a new opportunity arises to follow a dream, to chase after a long-term goal. You won’t want to be held back by anyone, family included, and this is what could cause tension in the month ahead.
The other indication that you need to look at what you can and can’t do and what you’re capable of is your ruling planet Saturn. This is a key month for Saturn and if you’re going to achieve your goals, work steadily, be reliable, you have got to look at what stays and what goes.
Saturn shifts direction in the zodiac on the 6th, a powerful date for you when there’s a Mars-Pluto planetary aspect in earth signs. This feels like standing your ground, doing what’s right for you, putting yourself first.
If you’ve been giving too much to other people or you want to be more responsible for yourself rather than others, this is the time to make it happen.
Saturn is also in action on the 8th and 21st when it clashes with Venus in Pisces and your communication sector. Someone might not like it if you say No or set new boundaries, but it’s important to do so now. Think back to events in January and early February and recognise that you have a second chance to sort out any imbalance in your life.
It might not make you the most popular person but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. Venus in Pisces could flag up an issue with a sibling or neighbour and you need to think carefully about what to do. The Easter weekend is the turn-around point when Venus turns direct in Pisces on Saturday 15th after six weeks on go slow.
Rather than let someone else call the shots and if you’re not ready to forgive and forget, take your time. It’s only on Monday 17th and again on the 24th when you’ll be prepared to make things work out, but on your terms.
There’s another retrograde planet this month, Mercury, which rules communication. Mercury switches direction in the zodiac on the 10th and remains on go slow until May 3rd. This often indicates a period when you’re wise to slow things down in your life and deal with one problem or issue at a time.
Know too that it might be hard to get a full picture of what’s happening, especially in your personal life or at home until mid-May. Plans may chop and change until then and other people could behave erratically.
Yet there’s still plenty of opportunity to enjoy yourself and focus on those activities in life that give you pleasure. This might include romance, spending time with kids or grand-kids, entertainment or creative projects.
Action planet Mars is in Taurus until the 21st highlighting play, fun, whatever makes you happy. Mercury’s up to its tricks in Taurus from the 10th to the 20th but on the 19th the Sun joins the Taurus party. So even if life is fairly chaotic or you’re having to play a waiting game in a specific area, e.g. work or home life, don’t miss out on some good times.
The New Moon on the 26th also falls in the sign of Taurus, a perfect date to start something new, to set your intentions around love, children, socialising, hobbies and talents. Taurus is a sensual sign and if you’re looking for love, this is a good date to engage actively with romance.
Let other people know you’re on the look out, ask for introductions, join a dating agency, flirt, have fun. Any new relationship is likely to be a stop-start scenario but don’t let that stop you getting out and about and enjoying yourself.
Passion is there for the taking as long as you don’t get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that you forget to prioritise life’s pleasures.
Sorting out home and family affairs is a big priority in the month ahead. It’s not a straightforward job however and whether you’re trying to arrange a family get-together, you’re moving home or renovating, be ready for some delays or last-minute changes of plan.
Action planet Mars is in Taurus and this sector of your chart until the 21st so you can push things ahead, for a while at least. You might be making a trip back to your childhood home or be sifting through possessions that remind you of the past.
It is important to crack on if you have an urgent agenda because on the 10th, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus. When a planet’s retrograde, it moves back through the zodiac and sometimes plans begin to unravel. A promise can be broken, someone goes quiet on you or you have to play a waiting game.
Bear this in mind but at the same time don’t give up if this area of your life is a hot-spot this month. On the 19th, the Sun enters Taurus and the following day the 20th, the Sun and Mercury unite briefly, just before Mercury moves out of Taurus.
So this flags up a chance to communicate, connect, hear the news you’ve been waiting for. It’s a potential green light in a fairly chaotic few weeks. The other key date to mention is the 26th when there’s a New Moon in Taurus, a symbol of new beginnings.
This is your chance to move things along, to take the initiative. You might not be able to change someone’s mind or perhaps you’re still waiting on a third party but at least you can set the ball rolling. Remember too that Taurus is one of the earth signs and their strengths are persistence and patience.
So hang on in there whatever you’re trying to achieve with your family, your home, property matters. You will get there in the end but you have to show willing and be flexible and know that you don’t have all the control.
Other people will have their say this month and what they decide may take precedence. Mid-May’s the turning point when you’re back in the driving seat and can move things forward.
This is an important month for communication too, as the sign of Aries is strong which highlights the spoken and written word. If there’s something you want to say that feels urgent, it will be hard to hold your tongue. If you’ve already had some success and other people have taken notice of what you have to say, then even more reason to continue what you’re good at.
Where you can make a difference or influence others, go for it. Yet when you encounter an extreme difference of opinion or a clash of beliefs, rein things in. This may become most evident around the Full Moon on the 11th which lights up the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac.
This is about education on one level, your philosophy on life and what you believe. It’s about the bigger picture and how you see your place in the world. Yet this is no ordinary Full Moon because it pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square which dominates the heavens for much of 2017.
This feels extreme, overblown and if you leap in to challenge someone else’s beliefs or ideology, it could quickly get out of hand. Emotions are heightened during the Full Moon period so choose your battles wisely.
If you’re involved in a legal case, this Full Moon might reveal what the outcome’s going to be. Certainly you’ll know who or what you’re up against in no uncertain terms.
Ideas will be flying around and making new plans is an exciting way to utilise your time. Not everything will come to fruition this month but the more you experiment, the more likely you are to land on an idea that can fly in the near future.
Easter weekend looks lively in this respect as the Sun in Aries teams up with your ruling planets Uranus and Saturn on the 14th and 17th respectively. You may decide to join like-minded people at a convention, get involved in your local community or brainstorm ideas that inspire you.
The more you learn, the more you want to know and it’s your curiosity in life that reaps dividends. The 24th and 28th are positive dates to focus on education, study and learning. This month is ideal for finding new solutions to an old problem or issue, as long as you’re prepared to keep trying.
Look at life from a fresh perspective now and rather than throw out everything you know, adapt what you already have and turn it into something new. This is where success lies. You might not grab other peoples’ attention immediately with Mercury retrograde until May 3rd but it’s the seeds you sow that can flourish over time.
Easter is also an important weekend for your 1-to-1’s and this would be a good time to spend with someone special. The Sun is your partner planet so when it teams up with Uranus (14th) and Saturn (17th), this spells togetherness.
Do something different with the one you love, ring the changes, go somewhere new. Keep your heart and your mind open. Love planet Venus turns direct on Saturday 15th so if someone close has been absent or love’s been missing from your life this could be the catalyst you need to get back together.
Venus dips back into Pisces from the 3rd to the 28th so you’re having to reassess what you value in life. This might be about money and putting new boundaries in place or perhaps it’s looking again at a relationship and why it didn’t work out first time around. There’s a theme of second chances but also reconciliation and forgiveness.
It’s a big month to try and get things right on the work and money front. However, with two planets retrograde during April, you can’t go directly from A to B. Success is there for the taking but it’s likely to come about via a circuitous route.
Money is under the cosmic spotlight as soon as April begins. The Sun is in Aries and this sector of your chart until the 19th and it’s heading towards a major showdown with some key planets. This will become evident close to the Full Moon on the 11th which cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac highlighting money, what you own and earn and what you value highly in life.
Full Moons are illuminating and you often see a situation clearly during the Full Moon period. This time around however there’s added influence due to the fact that the Full Moon pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square which dominates the heavens for much of 2017.
Jupiter is your ruling planet and is currently in Libra, the sign that rules joint finances and shared resources. So it’s likely that when you’re dealing with money matters, this is not about what you earn independently but instead it’s money that you share with others.
If you’ve been involved in any kind of financial dispute or there’s been an imbalance in your financial situation tied in to other people, schemes or deals, the Full Moon can be exposing. This is a dramatic Full Moon which signifies over-the-top and extreme behaviour.
You need to be prepared for other people fighting unfairly and know that someone may go to great lengths to get what they believe is rightfully theirs. Fairness and equality are key in this Full Moon as Libra is the sign of the Scales, so be willing to compromise but don’t accept an unfair deal. In an extreme situation, however, this might be the time when you decide to cut your losses and run.
It doesn’t help that Mercury, the communication planet, turns retrograde on the 10th, the day before the Full Moon and remains on go slow until May 3rd. Mercury dips back into Aries on the 20th so you may be playing a waiting game or not be able to get to the truth of a situation until Mercury turns direct. In fact, if you are involved in any kind of challenging financial deal, it might be best to wait until mid-May to fight your corner.
Yet don’t let that stop you getting ahead and some well-calculated risks could pay off before long. There’s some stunning astrology taking place in your personal money sector linking in to your career sector. So perhaps it’s time to rely less on other people and more on your own ability to earn and do well.
The combination that feels lucky for you involves the planets Uranus and Saturn which are working together. Uranus in Aries and your personal money sector teams up with the Sun on the 14th and communication planet Mercury on the 28th. Saturn in Sagittarius and your career sector teams up with the Sun on the 17th and Mercury on the 24th.
So even though Mercury’s on go slow, you have a chance to create something new. Take what you know, use your experience and network in order to get ahead. Not everyone will be on your side once Mercury is retrograde but it will sort out who’s loyal and who’s not.
There’s also a theme of second chances whether you reconnect with someone from your past or try again where you failed once before. Keep pushing for what you want, focus on what next and come mid-May you could be pleasantly surprised when new doors open for you. Not every lead or idea will pay off but the more you put in, the more chance of success.
When planets are on go slow in the heavens, you have to learn to play the game, to review and reassess your situation and not give up but try and try again. This fits with a run of planets in the sign of Taurus and your communication sector throughout April.
This is about generating new ideas and meeting new people. Nothing is likely to succeed immediately with Mercury on go slow but that shouldn’t stop you sowing seeds. Community is part of Taurus’ theme in your chart so connect with people locally, catch up with your neighbours, meet up with your siblings.
The New Moon on the 26th also falls in the earth sign Taurus and this is an excellent date to start something new, to sign up to a course, to attend a talk, to be around new people, new influences. As long as you adopt a flexible attitude and keep your mind wide open, there’s a lot you can learn in the coming weeks.
This could be a stand-out month for love because love planet Venus returns to your sign of Pisces from the 3rd to the 28th. Venus was here at the start of the year in January and early February and Venus retreats back into Pisces this month and turns direct on the 15th.
So there’s also a theme of second chances when it comes to love and you may decide to reconnect with someone you met earlier in the year. Long-term relationships can benefit too from Venus’ transit through your sign. Prioritise love no matter how busy you are and don’t let work or money issues get in the way of intimacy and romance.
The Easter weekend is a stand-out few days as this is when Venus returns to direct motion after six weeks on go slow. Even if you can’t find the time for love in the rest of the month, book a few days to be with the one you love over Easter, between Friday 14th and Monday 17th.
This is also an ideal weekend to pamper yourself and put your own needs first if love isn’t a major priority. Focus on self-love and reboot or restore your confidence with some much-needed R&R (rest and retreat).
The Sun is in your sign of Aries until April 19th. This means it’s important to grab special moments when you can and focus on you, your personal goals and aims.
When the Sun’s in Aries, it’s your turn to shine bright and let the world see who you are and what you have to offer. Yet your confidence is likely to ebb and flow now and into May and this is partly because communication planet Mercury is retrograde in your sign of Aries from April 20th to May 3rd.
So the Sun leaves Aries on the 19th and the following day, mind planet Mercury retreats back into your sign where it remains until mid-May. This could bring with it a change in your thinking, a need to review your plans, some time out. As much as you want to get ahead now, timing is the key and it may only be in the middle of May when your energy and focus return 100%.
Your ruling planet Mars however is strong this month which indicates that the stronger you are, the easier it is to deal with other people or what’s going on around you. Mars is in earth sign Taurus until the 21st, an indication that slow and steady wins the race.
Taurus rules your personal money, your values, what you produce. Focus on the essentials now, create structure in your life, do whatever’s necessary to help you feel grounded and secure. Even though this month is ‘retrograde’ month, there are still some peak moments when you can get ahead, especially when it comes to work and money.
The first key date is the 6th when Mars in Taurus teams up with Pluto in Capricorn and your career sector. This combination is powerful and dynamic and it feels strong. This is the invincible side of your nature, the part of you that refuses to give up, that connects to your inner courage.
Be bold in work and money matters and stand firm for what you need. This would be a good time to ensure you get on the right side of the boss or you step up a level and take charge at work or with regard to finances.
It’s especially important to get ahead and get things sorted early in the month because Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus and your money sector on the 10th. This is traditionally not a good time to make a major investment or sign or seal a deal when Mercury’s on go slow. Keep your options open after the 10th and review or reassess your situation.
There is one stand-out date however whilst Mercury’s on go slow and that date is the 26th when there’s a New Moon in Taurus. This is a symbol of new beginnings and the New Moon lights up your money sector. So set some new intentions and look out for new opportunities. You might recognise a shift in your values towards the end of the month.
As April begins, there’s another personal planet that’s retrograde, i.e. in retreat and this is Venus, the planet of relating. Venus rules love but also money so this confirms that your level of security, your value system is currently in flux. There’s an ebb and flow that’s linked to other people as their actions or decisions impact on your own.
Venus is retrograde until the 15th, but on the 3rd, Venus leaves your sign of Aries and moves back into Pisces, the most hidden sector of your chart. This is a sensitive, compassionate Venus so you may find someone’s attitude towards you changes.
Yet Venus runs into Saturn on the 8th and 21st so for some reason Venus is unable to give freely. This may highlight a block or obstacle that’s hard to overcome. Plus there’s a ‘get real’ feel about Venus and Saturn when practicalities or clashing beliefs or principles get in the way of love.
The Easter weekend is likely to be pivotal with regard to love and relationships. On the 11th, a few days before Easter there’s a Full Moon cutting across the Aries-Libra axis of the zodiac. This highlights opposite wants or needs and it can be an emotional time.
Plus, this Full Moon pulls in the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that dominates the heavens throughout much of 2017. There are other factors to take into account when it comes to love, whether this includes work, different paths or other people.
Then two things happen astrologically, both of which are important. On Friday 14th, the Sun in Aries teams up with impulsive planet Uranus and the following day on Saturday 15th, Venus turns direct. This feels like a switch is thrown, a change of heart, someone new entering the arena.
If you’re ready to declare your affections, here’s your opportunity. If you’re ready to move on from a relationship or partnership, this is when you’re likely to feel it most strongly. It’s potent astrology, not necessarily easy but powerful. Yet the most important date for you with regard to love is the 28th when Venus returns to Aries, strong and proud. The questioning is over, the time to act is now.
April is a whizzy month for you when the rebellious and spontaneous side of your nature dominates. There will be times when you’re ready to leap into action, especially on the 14th and 28th, but note that nothing is set in stone this month.
Plans will change, life unfolds. Your ruler Mars also changes signs on the 21st as it enters multi-faceted Gemini. Make the most of new opportunities, try out new things, new ways of thinking. Gemini rules communication, ideas, your local community.
Yet it’s only in mid-May when you will know which plans will work out, which will fall by the wayside, who will support you and who’s moving on. Have fun when you can in April but be prepared for some frustrating twists and turns in the month ahead.
